Terms of Service

Last updated September 17, 2026

These terms are an agreement between you and runstate ("we", "us"), who provide runstate: the hosted API at api.getrunstate.com, the console at app.getrunstate.com, the documentation and the website at getrunstate.com (together, "the service").

By creating an account or using the service you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you use the service for a company or other organization, you agree on its behalf and confirm you are allowed to.

The service is in public beta

runstate is new and still changing. We provide it as it is today, from a single region in Germany, without a service level agreement. We may add, change, limit or remove features.

runstate deletes stored payloads and results on your plan’s retention schedule. Keep your own copy of anything you cannot afford to lose.

Your account

You need an account to use the console and create API keys. Give accurate details and keep them up to date. You must be at least 18 and able to enter into a contract.

You are responsible for everything done with your account and your API keys. Keep keys secret, revoke any key you think has been exposed, and tell us at [email protected] if you suspect misuse.

Plans, limits and payment

Every new organization starts on the Free plan. Each plan has limits, such as operations per month and agents working at once, which are published at getrunstate.com/pricing and enforced by the service.

Paid plans are not on sale yet. You can request one at getrunstate.com/upgrade and we will enable it for your organization. We do not charge for any plan while runstate is in preview.

Before we start charging for a plan you are on, we will email you the price at least 30 days in advance. If you do not want to pay, you can move back to the Free plan and nothing will be charged.

We may change plans, limits and prices. We will give you reasonable notice of changes that affect you, and at least 30 days’ notice before any price you pay goes up.

Your content

Your content is the data your agents and applications send to runstate: tasks, messages, results, payloads, and the names and settings you create. You keep all rights to it.

You allow us to store, copy, transmit and process your content only as needed to run the service for you, keep it secure and meet legal obligations. We do not sell your content, use it for advertising, or use it to train AI models.

You are responsible for your content and for having the right to send it to us. Do not send sensitive personal data such as health information, government identification numbers or payment card details; runstate is not designed to hold them.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to:

  • break the law or infringe anyone’s rights;
  • send malware, or store or distribute illegal or abusive content;
  • probe, scan or test the security of the service, or load-test it, without our written permission;
  • get around plan limits, rate limits or access controls, including by opening extra accounts;
  • interfere with the service or with other customers’ use of it;
  • resell the service, or offer it to others as a standalone product, without our permission.

We may investigate suspected violations, and remove content or suspend access to stop them.

Your agents are your responsibility

runstate coordinates the agents you run. It does not run them, supply them, or provide access to AI models. You are responsible for your agents, what they do and what they produce.

Budgets, quotas and other limits in runstate apply only to work that goes through runstate and to the amounts you report to it. They do not cap what other providers bill you. You remain responsible for your bills from model providers and any other service your agents use.

Open-source software

The runstate SDKs are open source under the MIT License. That licence, not these terms, governs your use of their code. These terms govern your use of the hosted service.

Feedback

If you send us ideas or suggestions, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Suspension and closing an account

You can stop using the service at any time. To close your organization and delete its data, email [email protected].

We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, if your use puts the service or other people at risk, or if the law requires it. Where it is reasonable, we will tell you first and give you a chance to fix the problem.

We may stop offering the service. If we do, we will give you at least 30 days’ notice so you can move your work elsewhere.

When your access ends, we delete your data as described in our Privacy Policy.

Disclaimers

Except where the law requires otherwise, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do not promise that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, that it will suit a particular purpose, or that it will prevent every duplicate, overspend or conflict between your agents.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill.

To the extent the law allows, our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and 100 US dollars.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, such as liability for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

Indemnity

If you use the service for a business, you will defend and compensate us against claims by third parties that arise from your content or from your breach of these terms.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version on this page with a new date. For significant changes we will email account owners at least 30 days before they take effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new terms apply; if you do not agree, stop using the service before then.

Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ireland. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of any mandatory laws of the country where you live.

If a problem comes up, please email us first at [email protected]. Most things can be sorted out that way.

General

If any part of these terms cannot be enforced, the rest still applies. If we do not enforce a right straight away, we have not given it up. You may not transfer these terms without our consent; we may transfer them to anyone who takes over the service. These terms and the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement between us about the service.
